Fastned to open its 300th station in the coming weeks
Amsterdam, December 12, 2023. Fastned, the European fast charging company, expects to open its 300th station in the coming weeks. The company has opened 41 new stations so far in 2023 and currently has 29 stations under construction. Adverse weather conditions in many of Fastned’s markets in the past months have impacted construction as well as grid connections. While employees and partners are working hard to open new stations, Fastned is not likely to meet its earlier forecasted number of more than 60 newly built stations in 2023. It now expects to open between 53 and 60 new stations in 2023 and many more of the stations currently under construction in the first weeks of 2024.
Based on current expectations, the total network will be between 295 and 302 stations across six countries, before the end of this year. These stations will offer over 1700 chargers, an increase of more than 460 since the start of this year, not only as a result of opening new stations but also continuously upgrading existing stations.
