Fastned supports BEAT Cycling Club to make professional cycling emission-free with all-electric support cars

Fastned, the European fast-charging company and cycling team BEAT are teaming up to accelerate the switch to electric driving and make cycling more sustainable. The two parties are joining forces to boost electric driving with support cars in the professional cycling sport. The Dutch cycling championships on June 25th will kick off the partnership. BEAT Cycling Club will then ride their longest cycling race to date with fully electric support cars. Fastned offers the cycling team green electricity and advice.

With the partnership, Fastned supports BEAT to drive fully electric in professional cycling. Michiel Langezaal, CEO, and co-founder of Fastned: 'The partnership with BEAT shows very nicely that electric driving in cycling is possible. Fastned is committed to giving electric drivers the confidence and freedom to charge wherever they want. We aim to reduce CO2 emissions and, together with BEAT, we hope to inspire cycling fans to also switch to sustainable mobility. BEAT is leading the way when it comes to making cycling more sustainable. We are therefore proud to be able to help them achieve their ambitious athletic and sustainable goals.'

Towards the first electric support cars at Tour de France

BEAT became the first cycling team in the world to structurally switch to all-electric support cars in early 2023. The team runs professional races across Europe and has the ambition to reduce environmental impact in competitive cycling. Edwin Gulickx, director and co-founder of BEAT: 'Through our sustainable mission, we want to show the world that professional cycling can and should be much more sustainable. It is fantastic that we can already show, together with Fastned, that electric support cars contribute to the solution to the climate problem. As a club, we are growing towards our first participation in races like the Ronde van Vlaanderen and the Tour de France. Our ambition is to participate in these tours with an all-electric fleet and truck. This will only be possible together with ambitious partners like Fastned.'
