Payment made easy
Nobody likes complicated. Easier is simply better. Fastned’s mission is to accelerate the transition towards sustainable mobility, and the way we have gone about this has always been to make charging as easy as possible. In every way. That’s why our stations are situated close to the highway, why we have drive-through stations, the fastest chargers, easy payments and more.
Lately, there has been a lot of talk about payment, pricing and transparency in the EV charging industry. Our position on this is simple, and this is also our promise to you - EV drivers:
Payment terminals
We want you to have the complete freedom of choice when it comes to paying for your charge session. This is why we accept a wide range of payment options, from subscriptions and charging cards, via Autocharge, to a simple tap of your bank card on our payment terminal (see our payment FAQ page).
In order to make charging easily accessible for everyone, Fastned has decided to install card payment terminals across our entire network - the rollout should be completed in summer 2022. At the same time, Fastned facilitates roaming with numerous charging card providers to ensure easy payment at our ever growing charging network.
Price transparency
The price you pay per kWh is always clearly displayed on our chargers. We also show it in the Fastned app and on our website. We believe that you should pay the same price, no matter what payment method you choose to use. As a result, there should be no confusion over our pricing. If there is, let us know and we will fix it.
To add to the above, we went as far as making it a contractual requirement for charging card providers to be transparent about pricing - so that you, EV drivers, can clearly see what you pay Fastned (the price as shown on the charger, or linked to a Fastned subscription) and what markup, if any, you pay to the charging card provider.
Easy, right? It is also what we tirelessly advocate to policy makers to make EV driving as simple as possible. We hope our effort will help even more people switch to enjoying electric freedom, accelerating the transition towards sustainable mobility!
