Fastned sponsored the charging of the EV fleet of the Duchenne Dash, a 24-hour cycling challenge from London to Paris to raise awareness about Duchenne disease
Fastned is delighted to have been the Official Vehicle Charging Partner of the 2023 ‘Duchenne Dash’, a 24-hour 300km bicycle race from London to Paris organised by Duchenne UK. The 2023 Dash took place on the 12 and 13 May and raised more than €400,000 for the charity.
Since its creation 10 years ago, the Duchenne Dash has raised over €6m euros for the acceleration of medical research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a progressive genetic disease that causes muscle weakening, mainly in young boys.
160 riders set off on their bikes from the Herne Hill Velodrome in London, including Fastned’s very own peddlers, Alex Wolz and Chrissy Schekkerman! The riders left London in the early afternoon of 12 May and arrived the following evening at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, with a short stop on the ferry between Newhaven and Dieppe.

As Official Vehicle Charging Partner, Fastned has provided free charging to Duchenne’s fleet of support cars,, consisting entirely of electric vehicles along the route in England and France.
