Fastned expands its network to over 250 fast charging stations across Europe

Fastned, the European fast charging company, has achieved an important milestone and surpassed the mark of 250 stations across Europe. Today, Fastned added two stations to its network, one in France and one in the UK. The openings solidify even further the mission of the company’s founders of accelerating the transition to electric mobility by building 1,000 fast charging stations by 2030.

After a successful 2022 year closing, Fastned starts 2023 with an important milestone: the achievement of over 250 operational fast charging stations for electric vehicles. The company was founded over ten years ago in the Netherlands and has expanded its network to five additional countries by now: France, the UK, Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium. The achievement of this milestone underlines the relevance of the goals set by its founders, Michiel Langezaal and Bart Lubbers, over ten years ago when the transition to electric mobility was still at its very beginning.

Today, the transition to electric mobility is gaining pace. According to the European Council, 30 million electric vehicles will be on the EU streets by 2030. As more people switch to electric vehicles, the demand for charging infrastructure will continue to increase. And Fastned will keep up with this growth and aims to have 1,000 large stations at high-traffic locations operational by 2030.

The two stations that mark the 250+ stations milestone for Fastned are Martlesham in the UK, and Rosny-sur-Seine, in France. Martlesham is located in the East of England, outside of Ipswich, and will initially allow for six electric cars to fast charge simultaneously. An official opening ceremony for the UK site will be held in March 2023. Rosny-sur-Seine is between Rouen & Paris and will be able to welcome eight electric cars at the same time.

Fastned is proud to be a driving force in the transition to sustainable mobility in Europe, with over 250 operational stations and counting. With electric mobility being a recognised factor for reaching decarbonisation goals, we are committed to providing EV drivers with an unparalleled fast charging experience. We are not just building a network of large fast charging stations at high traffic locations, we are building a better, cleaner future for all. We want electric driving to be as easy as possible for people, and with our reliable, fast charging infrastructure, we're making an important contribution.
