After nine years Niels Korthals Altes says goodbye to Fastned

Summary

On August 10, 2021, Fastned announced that Niels Korthals Altes intended to resign from his position of director and CCO in order to focus on other matters. Today the moment has come for Niels to leave Fastned. From now on, the Board of Directors consists of Michiel Langezaal (CEO) and Victor van Dijk (CFO).

Niels was one of Fastned's first employees almost nine years ago. During that period, he played an important role in raising funding for the company, for example in relation to Fastned's IPO in 2019 and the capital injection in 2021, which enabled further acceleration of the company's growth. In addition, Niels was the driving force behind the development of the brand.

His funding related activities have been taken over by CFO Victor van Dijk and as of March 1, 2022, Lieke Duijmelings has taken over the commercial activities of Niels. Lieke joined Fastned as Commercial Director on 1 March 2022. In light of the further growth of the organisation, it has been decided to make this commercial role part of the broader Executive Team of the company.

“I am very happy that we can welcome Lieke Duijmelings
to our team. She brings a lot of marketing and brand experience. The challenge she faces in the coming years is to ensure that people immediately think of Fastned when they wonder how and where to charge their electric car. A challenge that my good friend and colleague Niels Korthals Altes started years ago. I look back with gratitude and admiration on what he has achieved at Fastned and I will sincerely miss him."
